Privacy policy — Mage2048

This policy explains what data the Mage2048 mobile app (“the app”) handles, and how. The app is published by Zbraa Games.

Mage2048 asks for no account. Unlike our party games, however, it shows advertising and offers a global leaderboard: both involve data, and this page says exactly which.

1. In short

• ❌ No account, no sign-up, no password, no email address.
• ❌ No real name, no location, no access to your contacts, photos or files.
• ✅ A nickname you choose, shown publicly in the leaderboard.
• ✅ An anonymous technical identifier, so your score belongs to you alone.
• ✅ Advertising served by Google AdMob, with your consent collected first.
• ✅ Your progress (stars, records) stays on your device.

2. Data we handle

a) Anonymous identifier

So that a score can belong to you without identifying you, the app creates an anonymous identifier through Firebase Authentication (a Google service). It is tied to no personal information: no name, no email, no phone number. It is only a technical key and a safeguard — it prevents one player from editing another's score.

b) Global leaderboard

When you play a ranked trial, the app stores exactly three things in Firebase Firestore (Google):

• the nickname you chose (24 characters maximum);
• your score;
• the date of that score.

This leaderboard is public: nickname and score are visible to every other player. That is what a global leaderboard is. So pick a nickname that doesn't identify you if you'd rather stay private — a first name, a made-up handle, whatever you like. Nothing requires your real name.

c) Progress and settings

Your stars, personal records, nickname and preferences (sound and so on) are stored on your device. They never reach our servers and disappear if you uninstall the app.

3. Advertising

Mage2048 is free and ad-supported. Advertising takes two forms: a banner at the bottom of the screen, and optional videos — only if you choose to recharge a spell. No advertising interrupts a game.

Ads are served by Google AdMob. To serve them, AdMob uses your device's advertising identifier and may use technical data (device type, country, language).

Your consent is requested. On first launch, if you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, a consent form (Google UMP) appears before any advertising. You then choose whether ads may be personalised. On iPhone and iPad the system also asks for tracking permission (ATT): if you decline, ads stay non-personalised.

Ad content is restricted to a general audience by a setting on our side. We share no gameplay data with advertisers, and we sell no data.

4. What we do not collect

No real name, no email address, no phone number, no precise location, no contacts, no photos. The app includes no analytics and no crash-reporting tool.

5. In-app purchases

The app is free and offers no purchase.

6. Processors

We rely on Google (Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC) for three components: Firebase Authentication (anonymous identifier), Firebase Firestore (leaderboard) and AdMob (advertising). Google acts as a technical processor for the first two, and as a controller for advertising, under its own terms.

6 bis. Legal basis and transfers

Two distinct legal bases, depending on the feature:

• Leaderboard and anonymous identifier — performing the service you asked for. You only appear in the leaderboard if you play a ranked trial.
• Personalised advertising — your consent, collected by the Google form on first launch and revocable at any time from the game's settings.

Google, which hosts the leaderboard and serves the ads, may process this data outside the European Union; Google states that it frames such transfers with the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

7. Retention

• Score and nickname: kept while they appear in the leaderboard, or until you ask for removal.
• Anonymous identifier: kept while the app remains installed.
• Local progress: on your device only, erased with the app.

8. Security

Traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Leaderboard access is governed by strict security rules: a player may only write their own score, with a nickname capped at 24 characters and a score that cannot be fabricated arbitrarily. The rest of the database is locked.

9. Intended audience

Mage2048 is not intended for children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data. Ad content is nonetheless restricted to a general audience.

10. Your rights

You may ask for your score and nickname to be removed from the leaderboard: write to us with the nickname and the trial concerned, and we will delete the entry. Since we have no idea who is behind a nickname, that is the only information we need — and the only one we can act on.

You may also change your advertising choice at any time inside the game, via Settings → Privacy → Manage ad consent: the Google form reopens. You can also reset the advertising identifier from your phone's settings.

11. Changes

This policy may be updated as the app evolves. The “last updated” date at the top of the page indicates the version in force.
